WW141: 'WEEN IT UP!

Well…it's my annual Halloween themed Wonderful Wednesday!
Let me share 5 things that I think you may find interesting this Hallowest of Weens.

1.) Horrorville USA. Check out this cool site from Roadtrippers!

FUN!!!! Let's go road tripping!!!!!!
If you are from Canada….
HERE is an article about the  "Most Haunted Places In Canada: 10 Spooky Canadian Ghosts Stories" -
-- yes it has a number of photos with quick captions for you ADD-ers out there!

2.) If you can't take a road trip….you're out of luck for THIS too…..The annual great jack o’lantern blaze at van cortlandt manor in new york features more than 5,000 individually hand-carved, illuminated jack o’ lanterns in a elaborate walk-through experience!!

These pumping 'sculptures' are crafted by teams of professional artists into towering installations scattered throughout the landscape.

The great jack o’lantern blaze runs will run for 25 nights through november 11th, 2013.
(thanks Design Boom)

3.) This is creepy…….thanks Prada….and Jane Fonda.

The Future of Flesh from Luke Gilford on Vimeo.

4.) THIS IS FANTASTIC!!! Are you sick of seeing smug couples have their sappy engagement photos thrown in your face??? Me too! Well it seems that Van Lawson and her fiance Josh Morden, both from Parry Sound are with you!!! Shot by professional Toronto photographer Brandon Michael Gray, their photos tell a story - a deeply disturbing story……that start with:

and end with :

YOU MUST see all 26 photos, in order HERE!!!
(thanks to If it's hip, it's here!)

5.) Here you go. 1 part Disney - 1 part Chicago. Very creative!! See if you recognize any of these celebrity villains:

CREEP OF THE WEEK....AND MY RENOVATION

Ok....so this is a BIG WEEK for me. It should be the post-T.A.P. meh-laise.....which I get it every year! This year it will be delayed.........(the Meh-laise is simply the time when my mind and body finally relax again! - It is not serious. It does not require mood enhancing drugs......although I am open to that! ;-)
BUT this year it will be delayed.........I will do a full TAP wrap up later in the week.....
BUT TODAY my contractor starts my bathroom renovation......which I will also blog about later next week.......here is a preview of the 'bathroom before':
Yes, that is duct tape on the wall!!! IT WILL MAKE FOR A DRAMATIC "AFTER"!!!
So......sufficed to say, with ALL THIS renovation in addition to reorganizing my studio from the weekend's exhibition.....I am not able to come up with too much NEW to blog about.
So let me share this quick Toronto-centric "Creep of the Week":

These graffiti-covered and seemingly mothballed TTC vehicles near the commission's Wilson Subway Yard do, apparently, serve a purpose. According to Brad Ross, executive director of corporate communications at the TTC, the H4 series subway cars and city bus are used by Toronto Police Service for training exercises.

All the photos above were take by Peter Muzyka and uploaded to the blogTO Flickr pool

Thanks guys!!
Just wait for great stuff later this week!!!!

CREEP OF THE WEEK: Olympic-style

OK...I know most of you are whipped up into a frenzied froth of Olympic spirit.
I am not as much into sports - although I am into the pre-show.....does that count???
So anyways....I wanted to share some photos this week from Beijing's former Olympic sites.
Truthfully, I don't think the Chinese people have a need for a post-Olympic BMX or Kayak stadium....
But the photos (from David Grey AGAIN at Reuters) help to make this my Creep of the Week!!!
Enjoy:

Ok..ok...I know what you are thinking
"OH ROB! Why you gotta be a hater?"
I AM NOT!
I just think that ruins are WONDERFUL to enjoy.
Even if they have a place in our Olympic history.
Here is another example:

I LOVE this video of the Olympic village in Germany (1936):

I am also fascinated by the horrible state of Athens Greece:

So there you go....creeeeeeepy.....and quite sad.
I am sure that London has probably got a better post-olympic plan!!!!
Hope you enjoyed this post.
I LOVE your comments!!!!

CREEP OF THE WEEK #8

Howdy!
You regular readers already know for I love creepy and deserted places.
This week we go to Beijing!
Welcome to "Wonderland":

As in 'wonder why this isn't finished' or 'wonder if anyone was murdered here'.
100 acres of AMAZING theme park......rotting. Construction stopped more than ten years ago on "the largest amusement park in Asia". Why? You guessed it....MONEY! Funds were withdrawn due to disagreements over property prices with the local government and farmers.
The result is a graveyard of remnants of a palace, a castle, and a glass domed shopping and entertainment arcade.
I LOVE IT!
Here is what is was supposed to look like:

And here are some more photos of what it actually looks like.

As you can see, the farmers of the area have reclaimed it!
I think that is fantastic!!
What could be better than farming in (what could have been) the happiest place in Beijing!!!

Thanks to David Gray for the wonderful photos....and to Design you trust blog)
I leave you with these images from Jeremy Snell on Flicker:

OH AND I FORGOT - HERE IS A VIDEO FROM THE SITE:
