WW183: PROFANITY POP, FUZ DESIGNS, and the FLEDERHAUS

Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday!!
Here are the 5 things I want you to LOVE this week!!!
Check these out:

1.) José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros’ latest works which just showed at La Luz De Jesus Gallery are still amazing! I love seeing Disney characters doing very unDisney-like things. Uncouth, corrupt and compromising Disney Princesses, Princes, Villians and Mickey et al are featured in "Profanity Pop".

“With Profanity Pop, Rodolfo pays tribute to specific historical works that have inspired many generations. Universal themes are once again narrated by beloved animated characters, but in the guise of the divine and with all the fragility of martyrs. Away from the paradise of happy endings, the pastel sprinkled drama takes on a vulnerability that juxtaposes subversively with situations never similarly interpreted. The Monarchy of prejudices and taboos crumble in this story. The disenfranchised reach beyond discrimination, and in this narrative no union is sinful or suppressed.”
Below are the paintings photographed from the actual exhibit at La Luz De Jesus Gallery.

So great.
Check out  La Luz De Jesus Gallery
and of course go to José Rodolfo Loaiza Ontiveros’ site too!!!
SUPER FUN!!!!

2.) The 'Noke' from FŪZ Designs looks like a supper cool padlock!!!! I need it!!!

No you b*tches…..not for the gym…..just cause it is cool!!!
You use air the Noke lock with your phone using bluetooth and their app. When your phone is in range (you can also generate guest keys for friends etc...), just press the shackle and it will unlock. You don’t even have to take your phone out of your pocket to unlock!!!!!!!!

AH MAH ZING!

And if there is a  battery failure (most likely your phone because Noke has a year long battery), you can also program a Quick-Click code to unlock it.
COME ON!
HOW COOL IS THAT?
Go to  Fuz Designs to see more!!!

3.) I WANT TO GO TO THERE……..The Flederhaus is an awesome structure in Vienna designed by architects Heri & Salli….

It is for hanging out - LITERALLY!!!!!! The open building, situated in the Museum Quarter of the city, houses 28 hammocks on 5 floors that offer great views to one and all at no cost. The inviting hammocks are arranged to allow for meeting and interacting with neighbours.

HONESTLY!!! How great is this??

Let's go!
(thanks to http://collabcubed.com)

WW175: THE SHINING SCARF, HOUSE OF CARDS, and DIP N DANCE

Howdy Folks!
Welcome to Wonderful Wednesday!
Here are the 5 things that I think are wonderful this week - 5 things I want you to love as well!!!!

1.) Ok..this is A LOT…but there is something I REALLY like about it. Don't judge me! have thou seen "The Shining"? Do you remember the carpet in the hallway? No?? (I have a very visceral memory of this movie so it seems clear to me….) but for those of you who don't really remember, it looked like this:

Well now YOU can dress up your home…or your person……to match……
Thanks to MONDO you can…….
A nice rug for your from door…..
or perhaps a cardigan?

Nothing says "Im gonna try to kill you with an axe" better than a cute cardi!

Go get one today!!! But please do not try to murder me! :-)

2.) THIS made me hungry! Thanks Pinterest……and From Brazil to You. org!!

Ingredients
4 ears of fresh corn, with both husk and threads removed
Olive oil to brush
A pinch of salt
A pinch of freshly ground black pepper
A pinch of nutmeg (optional)

For the Jalapeño-Lime Aioli:
1 jalapeño chile, stem removed, deseeded, and chopped
1-1/2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 cup mayonnaise
Salt to taste
A pinch of freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon paprika (for smokiness)
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
Shredded Parmesan cheese (for a dairy-free version, skip the cheese)
Chopped fresh cilantro to garnish

Directions: Outdoors or on the Barbecue Grill: Preheat the barbecue grill to a medium high temperature (350º F/ 180º C). Meanwhile, in a large bowl of water, cover the cobs completely with cold water and let them soak for 20-30 minutes (this will provide extra moisture for the cobs while they are grilling). Shake off excess water from the cobs. Then, tear 4 rectangular sheets of aluminum foil. Place one cob in the center of each sheet of aluminum foil. Then, brush each cob with olive oil, and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Roll the aluminum foil around each ear of corn and enclose by twisting the ends tightly, as illustrated below. Finally, place the wrapped ears of corn on the grill and cook for about 15 minutes, rotating with tongs periodically. Using tongs, remove cobs from the grill and open the foil with oven mitts. Press down on a few of the kernels; if liquid comes out, the corn is done. If you want the corn to have grill marks, subsequently place unwrapped cobs directly on the grill and let cook for about 2 minutes, rotating them occasionally. Serve the grilled corn either simply, spread with butter, or topped with the Aioli and Parmesan cheese.

YUUUUUMMMMMM!

3.) This is neat…..OGE creative group brings you a travelling light installation called ‘house of cards,’ that will travel around the globe! The installation is promising to be different in each city by displaying various sets of cards according to the local environment. Here it is in Jerusalem:

For this site, designers Merav Eitan and Gaston Zahr have piled up 126 cards that create a 10 x 7 x 5 meter structure that is entirely modular and can be continued indefinitely.

Each individual card measures 90 cm x 150 cm and is built as a double-sided, ultra-slim light box, illuminated from inside with ultra-bright LED technology. The deck of cards for this version is of biblical figures that were illustrated by the famous painter and illustrator, jean david, in the 1970 for el al airlines.

Cool huh?

4.) This is cute……Dip N’ Dance is an independent short film directed by Hugo Cierzniak and produced at Delapost Paris. The story is about a forty-year old middle-class who loves his gadgets to toe the line. He will figure out, in a musical way, that things you own end up owning you.
