WW: LES MIS, POTATOES and THE IPHONE5

FIVE THINGS I LOVE THIS WEEK:
(sorry about the yelling)

1.) I SAW these and LOVED THEM. (get it? saw???) Anyways, I love me some vintage typeset!!!! New York-based design studio Vault49 has created a series of hand-painted saws as part of a statement project about international budget cuts, titled “(SUB)PRIME-CUTS”.

Here is what they say: "Budgets are being butchered all around the world, and even worse it’s been done in such bad taste. These finely crafted financial tools should trim the fat nicely."
Check their site: http://www.vault49.com
(thanks to Junk Culture for this one)

2.) Ok...although I am a big show tune queen, I admittedly was not super jacked about the upcoming "Les Miserables":

UNTIL NOW......here's why:
COME ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is super-fantastic! LIVE singing. I love love love it.
Finally people with TALENT....singing LIVE.
Can't wait!
And am I crazy...but even with his weird-y beard-y...Huge Jackman is still HOT???
(If you didn't get that YouTube link - go to the site to see the trailer - you will not be disappointed!!)

3.) Love these cool rings recycled from billiard balls!!!

4.) Here is the EASIEST recipe EVER. DEEEEEELISH (thanks to my sister for making these first!!!)

Hasselback Potatoes
6 Medium Size Potatoes
2 - 3 Cloves Garlic, thinly sliced
2 Tbsp Olive Oil
30 g Butter
Sea Salt
Freshly Ground Black Pepper

Preheat the oven to 220˚C (425˚F). Put the potato on a chopping board, flat side down. Start from one end of the potato, cut almost all the way through, at about 3 to 4 mm intervals.Arrange the potatoes in a baking tray and insert the garlic in between the slits. Scatter some butter on top of each potato. Then drizzle the olive oil and sprinkle some sea salt and freshly ground black pepper. Bake the potatoes for about 40 minutes or until the potatoes turn crispy and the flesh is soft.

(NOTE: My sister added bacon and cheese to these - which REALLLLLLLY made them deelish)

5.) This.

  1. I keep meaning to make those potatoes. You make it sound so easy I might just try. And now I can't wait for the iPhone 9 (likely that will be when I can upgrade again!)

Oh...and I "saw" what you did in that first section. :)

  2. Yeah, iPhone5 is really great cell phone. I am saying this after doing detailed research on it.
